LINCOLN — Courtney Wallace pitched four one-hit innings and drove in three runs as Nebraska routed Maryland 14-0 in five innings on Senior Day at Bowlin Stadium on Saturday.
Tristen Edwards was 3 for 4 with an RBI and two runs scored, while Alyvia Simmons, Peyton Glatter, Bree Boruff and Madi Unzicker each drove in two runs.
The Huskers (19-28, 7-12) led 5-0 before scoring nine runs in the fourth to put away their fourth win in their last five games. NU has outscored Maryland 25-2 in the first two games of the series.
The win pulled the Huskers within a game of Indiana and Rutgers, who are tied for sixth place in the Big Ten standings.
Edwards recorded her fourth game this season with at least three hits as she raised her batting average to .364. She has 12 hits and nine RBIs in her last 24 at-bats.
The Huskers took a 4-0 lead in the second, scoring on RBI singles from Rylie Unzicker and Edwards, a Wallace sacrifice fly and a bases-loaded walk.
Fourteen Huskers batted in the fourth. Madi Unzicker had a two-run triple, and Boruff drove in two on a double.
Wallace struck out four, and Regan Mergele pitched a perfect fifth.
Nebraska will wrap up the series and play its final home game of the season Sunday at 11 a.m.
