Game 2 of Huskers’ fall Red-White Series ends in draw

LINCOLN — The second game of Nebraska baseball’s Red-White Series ended in a 2-2 tie Sunday night at Hawks Field.

The White team took a 2-0 lead in the second inning when Mike Waldron’s single drove in Brady Childs and Alex Raburn.

Matt Waldron, Mike’s twin brother, pitched four scoreless innings for the White team. But in the fifth, the Red team tied it up. AJ Johnson hit a leadoff double, and after a walk to Luke Roskam, Angelo Altavilla’s single brought in both runners.

The Red team, which won the first game of the series 5-0 on Friday, outhit the White team 5-2.

The final game of the series will be Tuesday at 4 p.m. at Hawks Field. The game is open to the public and free to attend.
