Former Husker Niles Paul has signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Financial terms of the deal were not released by the team, but according to reports, Paul received a two-year contract worth just under $9 million. Paul, entering his eighth NFL season, had spent his entire career with Washington.

Paul, who graduated from Omaha North, was a fifth-round draft pick of Washington in 2011. He started eight games last season. The bulk of his playing time came on special teams, and he was the captain of that unit for the last two seasons.

Paul’s most productive season offensively came in 2014, when he caught 39 passes for 507 yards. He had just 121 receiving yards the last three seasons. He’s also battled injuries that caused him to miss 26 games during that span.

As a Husker, Paul was a second-team All-Big 12 selection by the league coaches in 2010. He finished his NU career with 103 catches for 1,532 yards and five touchdowns.
