Wynot Upsets Defending State Champion Exeter-Milligan, Heading to State Championship for First Time

LINCOLN – #5 Wynot battled back to win an exciting five set match over #1 Exeter-Milligan. The Blue Devils are heading to their first state championship in school history.

Wynot won the match, 18-25, 25-22, 25-21, 15-25, 16-14.

Courtney Arkfeld led all players with 21 kills. Carissa Kuchta finished with 30 digs for the Blue Devils.

The Blue Devils will play #2 Hampton, who is undefeated on the season. They are now 27-4 and the match will take place at 9 a.m. Saturday.

Exeter-Milligan, the defending D2 State Champs, are now 27-5 and will play CWC in the third place game on Saturday. Hannah Beethe led the Timberwolves with 18 kills in the match.
