BATTLE CREEK – The Wymore American Legion Juniors baseball season came to an end on Sunday, with a 12-2 loss to Pender in the second round of the Class-C State Tournament at Battle Creek.
Pender jumped out to a 4-1 lead after two innings, before adding two runs in each of the next four innings to put the game out of reach. Wymore scored single runs in the second and fourth innings.
Paxton Mohr and Jacob Meyer both had a pair of hits, while Tucker Martin finished with a hit and two RBI to lead Wymore.
Wymore fell to Battle Creek, 5-4, in the first round on Saturday night.
The host team jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning, and added two more runs in the fourth inning.
Wymore scored twice in the third inning, before adding a run in both the fourth and fifth innings.
Wymore ended the season with a 10-18 record.
