Tri-County’s Niemeyer, Diller-Odell’s Hennerberg Win Two Events in District Meet

TECUMSEH – The Class C boys had their chance to qualify for state on Wednesday at the district meet held at JCC.

Tri-County’s Creighton Niemeyer won a pair of individual events, grabbing golds in the 800 and 1600 meter run. He edged JCC’s Sam Salvidar in the one-mile by one tenth of a second.

Salvidar did win the 3200 meter run easily. He’ll compete in two events at state.

As will Diller-Odell’s Reece Hennerberg, who won the 110 and 300 meter hurdles. He set his personal best in the 110 hurdles and is currently one of the top in Class C in the race.

Freeman’s Blake Kastanek finished second in both, plus he also won the triple jump.

Palmyra’s Curtis Peterson was the 100 and 200 winner. Finishing second to him in the 200 was Southern’s James Montgomery. Both runners will race the 200m dash again next week.

Seth Weber of Freeman was the 400m dash winner at the district meet.

The state meet starts next Friday at Omaha Burke.
