Syracuse Heads to St. Paul After 43 Run Championship Thriller

SYRACUSE – The Syracuse Junior Legion baseball team needed all 23 runs they scored to defeat Louisville-Weeping Water and win the C3 Area Tournament.

Louisville-Weeping Water was able to shut out Syracuse, 3-0, and force a winner take all final game at the Syracuse Athletic Conference.

Tied at 16 heading into the seventh inning, Syracuse was able to outscore L-WW, 7-4, to get the 23-20 victory and a trip to the state tournament.

The 43 run thriller between the two teams featured four half innings of six runs scored or more, 22 hits and 19 errors committed.

Syracuse will now travel to St. Paul for the Class C State Tournament and play Creighton. The game will be on Saturday at 12 p.m.
