State Patrol Launches ‘Be Here For the Holidays’ Initiative

Our hope it to reduce crash-causing behaviors

- Lt. Jones

LINCOLN – The Nebraska State Patrol is launching its public awareness initiative “Be Here for the Holidays.”

State Trooper Lt.Eric Jones said the state patrol will work with the Nebraska Department of Roads’ Highway Safety Office with the “Click It or Ticket” and the “You Drink, You Drive, You Lose” campaigns.

Jones: “Our hope is to reduce crash-causing behaviors and compliance with Nebraska state statutes to reduce traffic fatalities during this busy holiday season.”
The state patrol says heavy holiday traffic is often combined with inclement weather and urges motorists to voluntarily comply with traffic safety laws.

Jones: From our family to you family, we wish you safe travel this holiday season. And we request that you help us to help you reach your destination safely by always wearing your seatbelt and never driving impaired or distracted.”
