BLOOMFIELD – It did not take long for Falls City Sacred Heart to grab control of their quarterfinal match-up with Bloomfield.
The Irish scored on all but one drive in the first half, building a 40-point halftime lead en route to a 46-12 victory on Tuesday. FCSH out-gained Bloomfield 283-34 in the first half, limiting a normally potent Bloomfield offense well off their seasonal totals.
Irish fullback Austin Ahearn rushed for 123 yards and two touchdowns on 11 carries to nab Set the Bar Player of the Game honors.
Bloomfield’s Quentin Moles rushed for 118 yards on 34 carries and scored both of Bloomfield’s touchdowns. His eye-popping junior year wrapped up with a total of 2505 yards and 34 TD’s.
The Bees end their season with a record of 9-2, while Sacred Heart will battle BDS in the semi-finals next Monday.
