Peru State Hosts 45th High School Business Contest

PERU – Over 400 students competed Feb.7 in the 45th annual high school business contest at Peru State College.

Peru State instructor and contest director Lisa Parriot said students took over 800 exams  during the morning.

Parriott: “We have 29 schools here taking exams in business areas from accounting to web page design. So, the students compete in  those areas and we hand out awards at the end of the day and scholarships.”

First place winners earn  $500 scholarship for on-campus classes.

First place finishers include Jac Clements of Elmwood-Murdock in advanced accounting, Hayden Ernst of Elmwood in introduction to business,  Anna Bohlken of Syracuse in business law, Eli Waring of Johnson County Central in personal finance  and Emily Oestmann of Johnson-Brock in job interview.
