Northeast Community College Escapes Late Surge from Southeast Community College in Thriller


BEATRICE – An 11-2 run to end the game was not enough, as the Southeast Community College Storm fell, 109-107, to Northeast Community College.

In a game that featured nine players score in double figures, two free throws from Jalen Mobley sealed the game with 0.6 seconds to play. He finished the game 10 for 10 at the free throw line in his 18 point night.

SCC trailed 107-96 late in the game before knocking down three three pointers and a two pointer while forcing two turnovers.

Bobby Parker and Taylor Britt each had 25 points in the loss for SCC. Milan Skundric led the way with 20 points for Northeast Community College.

In the girls game, Northeast Community College dominated the second half in a 96-52 victory. They forced 29 Lady Storm turnovers.

Northeast Community College was led by 17 points from Cynthia Jorge, but had seven players in double figures.

Jay’la Brown finished with 10 points for SCC.
