Nebraska City Woman Charged With Murder In Alabama

NEBRASKA CITY – A former Nebraska City woman has been arrested in Alabama for suspicion of murder.

Jolie Willow Hoefling is charged in Magnolia Springs, Ala., for suspicion of killing 48-year-old Miles Dean Sprague and abusing his corpse.

Hoefling, 43, had been living with Sprague at an RV camp. Investigators say she stabbed Sprague in the neck and torso after an argument.

Sprague claimed Hoefling tasered him before he crashed near the Missouri River bridge

Officials say she waited until the early morning hours and moved the body to a wooded area about a quarter mile from the trailer.

The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office reported finding the body on Jan. 14 near Hideaway RV Campground.

In 2016, Hoefling was jailed  in Nebraska City when Sprague told authorities she electrified him with a taser while he drove across the Missouri River bridge.

The Ford Explorer the couple was in overturned after leaving the bridge. Deputy Otoe County Sheriff Mike Riege was first to arrive and said he heard Sprague yelling “that crazy … tazed him.”
