Nebraska City football coach accepts athletic director position at Crete High School

NEBRASKA CITY, NE – After seven years with the Nebraska City football program, Head Coach B.T. Kracl stepped down this month to become the new athletic director at Crete High School.

Kracl, who teaches language arts at Nebraska City High School, will finish the school year before starting in his new position on Aug. 1. He says it was an opportunity he had to take, but leaving the Pioneers was not an easy decision.

“I’m going to miss them. Professionally, this was very easy decision, but emotionally and when you invested and had people invest in you and put their trust in you, that makes it a little bit difficult.”

Crete High School starting an intramural program for kindergarten through sixth grade students attracted Kracl to the position.

“Getting young kids involved in athletics, giving them the chance to enjoy it and enjoy competition. Hopefully that carries over so they’re more willing and likely to continue into high school.”

Applications are now being accepted for the open head football coaching job at Nebraska City High School.
