Nate Meier’s Record Day Gives #10 Doane Thrilling Homecoming Win

CRETE – All in one game, Nate Meier set the single game rushing record for the Doane Tigers, went over 3,000 yards rushing for his career and became third on the all time rushing list in Tigers history. This all came on Homecoming at Doane University.

The senior from Pierce finished the game with 291 yards and three touchdowns, proving to be the big difference maker in a 27-19 win. He also added 43 yards receiving, which led the team.

The Doane defense stood tall in the fourth quarter, to help the Tigers maintain a small lead. On Hastings’ final three drives, the end results were a crazy interception from Tariq Mustafaa and two fourth down stops.

With the victory, the #10 Tigers are now 6-1 overall. They get a much deserved week off next week and then they will be home against Dordt on October 29th.
