BEATRICE – One of the most highly anticipated volleyball tournaments in Southeast Nebraska has officially begun.
The MUDECAS Volleyball Tournament began in Beatrice on Monday with two divisions of eight teams.
In the A Division, top seeded Johnson-Brock moved on against #8 HTRS in straight sets behind Fallon Stutheit’s 18 kills. They will see #4 Freeman in the semifinals after the Falcons were able to top #5 Falls City Sacred Heart in the final contest of the day.
The other semifinal will feature #6 Exeter-Milligan and #2 Meridian. The Timberwolves won in two sets against BDS, while the Mustangs topped Diller-Odell in straight sets, as well.
Johnson-Brock will play Freeman at 7, while Exeter-Milligan will play Meridian at 8:15.
In the B Division, it was all the top seeds advancing on. #1 Palmyra will see #4 Pawnee City, while #3 Tri County will meet #2 Sterling in the semifinals on Tuesday.
