Johnson-Brock Beats BDS in 4, Advances to 3rd Straight State Title Match

LINCOLN, Neb. – Johnson-Brock survived a tough semifinal opponent and are now one win away from a third straight state title.

Johnson-Brock defeated BDS in four sets – 25-16, 24-26, 25-11, 25-18 at Pinnacle Bank Arena on Friday morning.

Fallon Stutheit led the way in kills with 25 for Johnson-Brock. Kaitlynn Simon added 15 more for J-BHS.

BDS had Carley Elznic and Regan Alfs tied for team kills lead with 10 each.

With the win, it sets up a rematch between #2 Johnson-Brock and #1 Meridian in the Class D1 title match. The two teams squared-off in last year’s title match with the Eagles winning, 3-1. Meridian’s two losses this season have come from Johnson-Brock. First serve is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday.
