HANOVER, KS – From start to finish, the #4 ranked Hanover, Kansas Lady Wildcats controlled the game against #7 Diller-Odell.
The Lady Griffins had their two leading scorers, Madison Jurgens and Madison Hajek in foul trouble the majority of the first half, and Jurgens went on to foul out of the contest in the fourth quarter.
A late rally in the early portion of the fourth quarter cut the lead to 10, but Hanover was able to come out on top, 71-58.
Ashton Jueneman had a big night for the Lady Wildcats (13-2), with 17 points and nine rebounds. Macy Doebele also contributed 15 points for Hanover.
Diller-Odell, fresh off their Pioneer Conference Championship, drops to 16-3. They were led by Katie Zarybnicky with 17 points. Madison Hajek also added 14 points and seven assists.
In the boys matchup, it was a two point game at 15-13 in the second quarter. Hanover then went on a 20-2 run into the third quarter to take full control. They would come out on top, 56-41.
Carter Bruna led all scorers with 18 points. He also added seven assists and three steals. Adam Fritschi finished with 14 points for the Wildcats (12-2).
Diller-Odell (7-12) was led by Dylan Wolbert’s 12 points. Peyton Mohr and Reese Hennerberg each added 11 points.
