Grabouski Sets Record At Beatrice Speedway

BEATRICE – History was made at the Beatrice Speedway on Friday night, when Jordan Grabouski claimed his tenth straight IMCA Modified Feature victory, by crossing the finish line in front of Mike Densberger, Jordy Nelson and Steve Swarthout.

Johnny “The Jet” Saathoff had set the track record for consecutive IMCA Modified Feature wins with nine in a row during the first of his four National Championship seasons in 1996.

Grabouski had tied the record two weeks ago, but had to wait an extra week to try and set the new Beatrice Speedway record for consecutive IMCA Modified Feature victories because of a rainout.

Grabouski admits that Johnny “The Jet” Saathoff was his dirt-track racing idol growing up at the Beatrice Speedway, and Grabouski was only seven-years old when the four-time National Champion set the record 22-years ago.

The record-setting race followed back-to-back thrillers.

Andrew Whitmore edged Lance Borgman by the nose of his car to win the Sports Mod Feature, before Eric Bartels surged past Kyle Vanover and Jordan Junker in the final lap to win an exciting Stock Car A-Main.

Roy Armstrong took the checkered flag in the Hobby Stock Feature, while Drake Bohlmeyer ran away from the field in the Sport Compact A-Main.
