BEATRICE – The quest for a state championship will begin next week for several area girls teams.
At Seward High School, #4 Fairbury will lead things off against #5 Wilber-Clatonia at 6:30 p.m. The winner will play #1 Malcolm at 6 p.m. on Tuesday. #2 Fillmore Central will play #3 Milford on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. The championship game will be Thursday at 7 p.m.
Top seeded Diller-Odell will take on #4 HTRS on Tuesday night at Fairbury High School. The game will tip at 6 p.m. The other matchup in the subdistrict is #2 Southern vs. #3 Thayer Central. The winners will meet in the championship game at 7 p.m. on Thursday.
#1 Elmwood-Murdock plays #4 Palmyra in the first game at Norris Middle School at 6 p.m. on Tuesday. The other game will be #2 Freeman vs. #3 JCC at 7:30 p.m. The championship game will be at 7 p.m. on Thursday.
At Freeman High School, the play in game will feature #4 Tri County and #5 Sterling at 6 p.m. on Monday. The winner will face #1 Lourdes Central Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The other semifinal will feature #2 Johnson-Brock against #3 Pawnee City at 7 p.m. The championship will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Tri County High School is the host for this subdistrict, as #4 Deshler will play #5 McCool Junction at 6 p.m. on Monday. The winner will see #1 Meridian in the semifinals on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. #2 BDS will play #3 Friend at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, as well. The championship will be at 7 p.m. on Thursday.
The play in game at Wilber-Clatonia High School will be between #4 Lewiston and #5 Parkview Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The winner will see #1 Falls City Sacred Heart at 6 p.m. on Tuesday. The other semifinal will feature #2 Exeter-Milligan and #3 Dorchester at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday. The championship game will be at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
