Fairbury’s Barton Named All-American Trap Shooter

FAIRBURY – Fairbury High School junior Brock Barton has been named a first team All-American by the Amateur Trap Shooting Association (ATA).

Barton earned a spot on the 2017 junior team after a successful summer of competition. After finishing his sophomore year for the Fairbury High School team, he transitioned to ATA competition in seven states. He competed in Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa, Missouri, South Dakota, Colorado and Wyoming as well as the Central Zone Shoot, which featured shooters from eight states and two Canadian provinces.

Barton finished ATA competition for the year in August at the Grand American World Trap Shoot against some of the best shooters in the world and represented Nebraska juniors in the Champion of Champions event.

He earned All-American status by winning multiple state championships in his age group.
