BEATRICE – The #1 and #2 teams in Class D1 will meet for a chance to win the MUDECAS A Division title on Thursday.
Top seeded Johnson-Brock remained unbeaten and moved to 13-0 on the season with a three set victory over Freeman. It was the first time this season that they had lost a set.
Despite winning the state championship in her first two seasons, Eagle Junior and Nebraska commit Fallon Stutheit has yet to make a MUDECAS championship.
“It feels really good since the last two years we have fell short, so that was one of our main goals this year, to get to the MUDECAS championship.”
Second seeded Meridian faced Exeter-Milligan in the opposite A Division semifinal. The Mustangs rolled into the championship, 25-15 and 25-14.
This will set up a rematch of the Class D1 State Championship game a year ago, which was Meridian’s last loss. Johnson-Brock’s last loss was to Meridian in the District Finals last year.
The B Division finals will feature Palmyra battling Tri County.
The championships will take place on Thursday, with the B Division playing at 6:30 and the A Division at 8.
