COLUMBUS – Ag Park was bustling Saturday as parents and kids made their way to the facility to sign up for various youth sports.
Coaches and organizers from 37 various teams and organizations had booths at the event, with everything from youth golf and three local dance studios, to club softball and baseball. The Columbus group Revolution was providing face painting at the event and, Columbus Area Sports and Activities Council Director Doug Kluth says they were collecting used sports equipment to help those families who can’t afford it.
“Equipment is expensive, and there is a lot of children in this community who are in need, and a lot of parents have indicated to us that they have a lot of equipment lying around their house, that obviously their children have outgrown, and that they no longer need,” says Kluth.
The event was held from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Saturday and for more information CASAC, you can check out their website here.
