DENVER, Colo. – Nebraska City senior Oliver Borchers-Williams brought home more than just his high school diploma on Sunday.

On the same day the Class of 2018 celebrated their graduation at Nebraska City High School, Borchers-Williams was being awarded a third place finish in Expository Speaking at the National Individual Events Tournament of Champions in Denver.

His all recips total was 8.35. Millard West’s Amanda Dickerson, the Expository Speaking champion, totaled 9.83.

“…We are so proud of you,” the Pioneer Speech Twitter account read on Sunday afternoon.

The third place finish follows his individual state championship in March at the Nebraska School Activities Association State Speech Championships in Extemporaneous Speaking.

Nebraska City also claimed a fourth place finish in Act 1 this weekend.
