Benefit to be Held in Milligan for Little Girl Battling Rare Cancer

MILLIGAN – The parents of a little girl are asking for the community’s support as their daughter battles a rare form of childhood lung cancer.

Rylee Grace Baller was diagnosed with Pleuropulmonary Blastoma Type 1 in January. The Baller family has been fighting the battle with her ever since.

One-year-old Rylee has underwent aggressive treatment, including many x-rays, scans, platelet and blood transfusions, as well as two lung surgeries. Children’s Hospital out of Omaha has teamed up with Children’s Hospitals in other states in order to help the Baller family seek the best treatment plan for Rylee.

On September 9, a benefit is being hosted in honor of Rylee. All the proceeds collected from the event will be donated to the family to help in covering medical expenses. Community members are invited to attend the event in Milligan, which begins at 10:30 a.m. with a Road Rally.

As for now, the family has been keeping Rylee’s supporters up-to-date on her condition through social media. The family shared that Rylee underwent her final chemotherapy treatment on August 8. Rylee’s mother says in the post, “Excited to watch Rylee’s hair grow back and so glad she doesn’t have to feel yucky anymore.”
