Beatrice High School Names New Girls Head Basketball Coach

BEATRICE – A Beatrice High School graduate and son of a long-time Orangemen basketball coach has been named the new Lady Orange head basketball coach.

According to a press release from Neal Randel, the Beatrice High School Activities Director, Jalen Weeks – a 2014 graduate of Beatrice and son of Jim Weeks, who is currently the head boys basketball coach at Auburn – has been selected to take over the Beatrice girls basketball program.

Weeks, who has been serving as an assistant coach at Crete, under another former Beatrice graduate, Isaiah Dell, will take over for Dennis Coudeyras, who resigned after two years as the Lady Orange head basketball coach.

Jalen Weeks was a co-founder and director of “3Twenty3 Sports” – an AAU Summer basketball program in Southeast Nebraska.

Weeks will take over a Beatrice girls basketball team that made a remarkable post-season run into the Class-B State semi-finals last season.
