Beatrice Exmark American Legion Senior Win Extra-Inning Thriller Over Falls City On Sunday Night

BEATRICE – Kole Jurgens provided the game-winning walk-off double that scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to lift the Beatrice Exmark American Legion Seniors to a wild 12-11 victory over the Falls City Blue Storm, on Sunday night at Christenson Field in the Area B-1 Tournament.

Falls City scored two runs in the top of the ninth inning and were just one out from winning the elimination game and ending the Beatrice baseball season.

Caleb Wallman doubled in a run in the bottom of the ninth inning, before the game-winning hit by Jurgens.

The Blue Storm rallied from a 7-0 deficit by scoring five times in the fifth inning and three more runs in the sixth. Falls City forced extra innings with another run in the seventh inning.

Boden Ruskamp picked up the win in relief for the Beatrice Exmark Seniors, who play Hickman at eight Monday night.

 

Logan Adam pitched a complete game, allowing three runs on five hits to lead Crete Stop and Shop to a 10-3 victory over Auburn in the other elimination game.

Crete plays Syracuse at 5:30 Monday evening.
