Baete Takes Home Class B Crown at State Golf Championships

COLUMBUS – Beatrice’s Kirsten Baete used a three over finish, the best on the Quail Run Golf Course in Columbus on Tuesday, to jump three spots and win the Class B Girls Golf State Championship by five strokes.

The senior finished thirteen over overall, a 157 total score. It was enough to hold off Kendra Placke of Seward, who finished at eighteen over.

The Beatrice girls team finished 11th overall, as Sidney Hartig finished 22nd, Peyton Neunaber finished tied for 65th, Mackenzie Barnard finished 69th and Sydney Southwick finished 70th.

Norris as a team finished just ahead of Beatrice with a 10th place finish.

CLASS B STANDINGS

CLASS C 

Evangeline Schwab of Fairbury had a much better day on the golf course on Tuesday, beating her score from Monday by 21 strokes. She finished in 85th place overall.

Mikayla Roeder of Palmyra finished 55th overall and HTRS as a team finished 14th.
