BEATRICE – The #1 and #2 seeds make it six for six on the higher seeds advancing in the MUDECAS Tournament.
Both #1 seeds, Falls City Sacred Heart and Southern, advanced with little trouble in their matchups. The Lady Irish turned a seven point halftime lead into a 50-28 victory, thanks to Jade Hill’s 22 points. They will play the winner of #4 Diller-Odell and #5 BDS on Thursday at 5 p.m. in the City Auditorium. Southern dominated #8 Parkview Christian at SCC. They built a 19-0 lead at the end of the first and rolled to a 55-11 win. The Lady Raiders will play the winner of #4 JCC and #5 Sterling in the semifinals on Thursday. It will be at 5 p.m. at SCC.
Both #2 seeds struggled early on, but found a way to win. #2 Exeter-Milligan saw an 11 point halftime lead shrink to none in the third against #7 Pawnee City. They would pull away in the fourth, however, despite Olivia Farwell’s 23 points. They came out on top 51-43. The Lady Timberwolves will play #3 Meridian at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday at the City Auditorium. The other #2 seed, Freeman, escaped 40-30, against Palmyra in a back and forth game. The Lady Falcons were led by Lauren Parde’s 12 points. They will play #3 Lewiston at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday at SCC.
