FAIRBURY – Eager travelers once walked these floors. Today curious tourists look at what the Rock Island Railroad Depot once was.
It is one of the remaining brick Rock Island Railroad Depots in Nebraska and the largest depot still in existence between Chicago and Denver.
The Rock Island Railroad Depot Museum houses artifacts and memorabilia donated from former railroad employees and their families.
Summer museum hours are Wednesdays through Sundays from 1:00 until 5:00 p.m., with tours by appointment.
